This year we took part in The Big Bolton EXPO (29 June) – which is a business event organised by The Best of Bolton. Lots of local businesses and charities assembled at The Bridge Centre on Bradford Street to meet visitors and mingle together and strike up new collaborations and partnerships. We invited some of the businesses to take up WAVE activities as part of teambuilding events and corporate fun days in exchange for a donation. This will enable us to keep providing our services for free or at low cost so that more people can benefit from our outdoor adventures!
We exhibited alongside a number of fantastic local charities including Zac’s Youth Bar, who are based at Farnworth, Xplode Magazine, The Amy Leigh Barnes Foundation, Zak Vali Foundation, Be Strong, Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme (BYPHS) and Harmony Youth Project based in Halliwell. It’s great to collaborate with local charities too – and we hope to work with some of these excellent organisations in the future to help provide even more opportunities to young people in Bolton.
Before we sign off for today, we have to mention Craftprint, based at Horwich, who kindly donated hundreds of leaflets for the event. Help like this makes a massive difference to a small charity like ours so a huge thank you to Craftprint!
Big thanks also to Bolton College for sponsoring our stand!
